If I Were President MOS DEF

If I Were President is a Telly Ward-winning election campaign produced by 247Townhall.org and GOOD magazine. Mos Def is a critically-acclaimed rapper, actor, and activist, who is known for his creative, socially-conscious lyrics, powerful movie roles, and unwavering community support. He has appeared in numerous movies, including The Italian Job, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and the Emmy-nominated Something The Lord Made. With Talib Kweli he formed the group Black Star and made a name for himself as a non-gangsta, socially conscious rapper who earned critical praise, if not multi-platinum record sales. After Hurricane Katrina, he penned the classic relief song Katrina Clap, which he performed, in protest, outside of the MTV Music Awards. myspace.com/mosdef
